… based on the true meaning of Christmas!
This Christmas I am thinking about someone whom I have admired greatly. He has had a big influence on me, especially in the past year. He died yesterday afternoon, and he will be sorely missed by anyone who knew him or knew of him.
I never got to meet him. But, maybe one day, I’ll get to thank him for all that I’ve learned from his teaching. He was an amazing man called Dr Robert Charles Sproul, known worldwide as R.C.
He was known far and wide.
He was a pastor, teacher, author, theologian, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He wrote many books explaining great theological truths. As well as this he wrote children’s stories, and gave numerous sermons, lectures and seminars. He wrote Christian songs, enjoyed painting, and apparently he was very good at athletics in his younger days and enjoyed golf.
I’ve chosen not to write much in this ezine, but instead, I would like to introduce you to one of the children’s stories that Dr Sproul wrote. It caught my imagination the first moment I heard it, and actually is an allegory of the true meaning of Christmas.
He called the story ‘The Lightlings’.
I will be writing more about the true meaning of Christmas in my Feed My Sheep ezine, which will be going out next week. If you have not already signed up, and would like to receive it please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I will add you to the ‘Feed My Sheep’ mailing list.
In the meantime, click on the picture below and enjoy listening to and watching this Christmas story.
And if you have children or nieces and nephews, they will enjoy it too.
I wish all my readers a very happy and peaceful Christmas!
